In spinal surgery, he is skilled in decompressions, discectomy, fusions, and cervical disc replacement. His proficiency extends to trauma and sports injuries, where he performs knee ligament reconstructions and meniscal surgery.
Dr Sheard remains committed to staying at the forefront of orthopaedic advancements by actively participating in professional development programs and courses. As an advocate for the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons, he takes pleasure in mentoring and teaching trainees in the field.
His academic prowess has been recognised with multiple awards and prizes, such as the Arthur Edward Burton Memorial Prize in 2004. Furthermore, his contributions to the medical field have been published in esteemed peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis.
