Dr Philip Le Page

Dr Phil Le Page is a highly experienced General Surgeon with a specialist focus on Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgery. After completing his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Melbourne in 2001, he went on to achieve Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2011. He went on to train with the specilaised Upper Gastrointestinal surgery society ANZGOSA at St Vincent's and Concord Hospitals in Sydney, and in Edinburgh, UK in 2013. He is currently Head of Department of Upper GI Surgery at Concord Hospital.

Dr Le Page has developed extensive expertise in the surgical management of stomach and oesophageal disorders, including hiatus hernia, reflux, cancer. In additiona he manages a multidisciplinary patient centred approach to obesity and weight-related health conditions. He performs a broad range of advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures, including laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, gastric band surgery, and keyhole general surgery. His approach combines technical excellence with personalised patient care, helping individuals achieve sustainable weight loss and improved long-term health outcomes. He has adapted his bariatric practice given common use now of medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro and openly discusses how how surgery may be a suitable option. More recently he has trained in robotic surgery, travelled to Japan to learn new complex abdominal wall reconsutrcution hernia surgery and offers advanced laparoscopic and robotic hernia surgery.
