Dr Peter Vaux

Dr Peter Vaux is a highly dedicated Consultant Adult Psychiatrist who provides comprehensive mental health care. He focuses on the assessment and management of individuals across a broad age spectrum, from youth through to old age. Dr Vaux is committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care, helping individuals navigate complex mental health challenges with professional guidance and support.

With a broad range of clinical interests, Dr Vaux specialises in the assessment and treatment of diverse mental health conditions. His areas of expertise include mood disorders, psychosis, and acute mental health problems. He works closely with his patients to develop tailored treatment plans that address their unique needs, aiming to foster long-term recovery and mental well-being.

Dr Vaux completed his medical degree (MBBS) and initially worked as a General Practitioner before pursuing specialist training in psychiatry at major metropolitan hospitals. He successfully qualified as a Consultant Adult Psychiatrist and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). In addition to his clinical practice, he has held leadership roles, including serving as a Clinical Director for Psychiatry within a regional health district.
