Dr Peter O'Hara

Dr Peter O'Hara is a highly dedicated General Practitioner and Skin Cancer Practitioner who provides comprehensive care to patients on the Sunshine Coast. With a career spanning several decades, Dr O'Hara has developed a profound interest and expertise in the detection, diagnosis, and management of skin cancers. He is deeply committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, ensuring that individuals feel reassured and well-informed throughout their medical journey.

In his clinical practice, Dr O'Hara focuses extensively on skin health, offering thorough skin checks, mole monitoring, and the management of both melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers. He is skilled in a wide range of surgical and non-surgical treatments, including cryotherapy, diathermy, curettage, surgical excisions, skin grafts, and flap repairs. Additionally, Dr O'Hara provides photodynamic therapy (PDT) and cosmetic treatments, such as anti-wrinkle and dermal filler injections, to address both therapeutic and aesthetic patient needs.

Dr O'Hara graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Sydney in 1981. Following his graduation, he gained valuable experience working as a Resident and Registrar in various hospitals before practising as a General Practitioner. To further his clinical expertise, he obtained a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from the United Kingdom and a Certificate of Dermatology from Monash University, alongside a Certificate of Dermoscopy. He remains actively engaged in continuing medical education, regularly attending conferences and collaborating with peers to stay at the forefront of skin cancer medicine.
