Dr Peter Kilby

Dr Peter Kilby is a highly qualified Orthopaedic Surgeon who is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care. Raised in rural New South Wales, he has a deep personal connection to regional communities and is passionate about delivering high-quality medical services to these areas. Dr Kilby focuses on helping patients fully understand their diagnoses and treatment options, ensuring that surgical intervention is only recommended when absolutely necessary. By considering each individual's age, lifestyle, and occupation, he is able to tailor treatment plans that aim to restore optimum joint function and achieve excellent long-term outcomes.

Dr Kilby graduated from the University of New South Wales with his medical degree in 2004, before completing his specialist orthopaedic training through the Sydney North Side Training Scheme. His extensive training included rotations at several major trauma centres, a specialised paediatric term in the United States, and elective rural rotations. He further advanced his expertise by completing a post-graduate fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. Dr Kilby was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2015 and is a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.

In his clinical practice, Dr Kilby specialises in a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions, with particular expertise in hip and knee replacements, knee arthroscopy, and ACL reconstructions, including complex revision surgeries. He is also highly skilled in managing upper and lower limb trauma, fractures, and various foot and ankle conditions. To ensure the most comfortable and effective recovery process, Dr Kilby works closely with a multidisciplinary team of Allied Health Professionals, including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Rehabilitation Specialists, to deliver seamless, holistic care.
