Dr Patrick Chung

Dr Patrick Chung is a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist who provides comprehensive psychiatric care to patients in Liverpool, Australia. He adopts a holistic, patient-centred recovery approach, placing a strong emphasis on patient education and shared decision-making. Dr Chung is committed to creating a safe, collaborative therapeutic environment where psychological, biological, and social perspectives are integrated to support long-term well-being. With a deep respect for diverse backgrounds, he has a particular interest in how cultural identity, migration experiences, and community values intersect with mental health.

Dr Chung completed his Doctor of Medicine at Griffith University in 2016, during which he gained valuable rural training under the university's Longlook programme. He went on to undertake specialist training, attaining Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) in 2023. To further expand his clinical expertise, he completed a Certificate in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, which focuses on the complex interface between physical and mental health. He is an active member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.

Throughout his career, Dr Chung has worked across both metropolitan and rural settings, gaining extensive experience in managing a wide range of mental health conditions. His clinical focus includes the assessment and treatment of mood disorders, such as depression and bipolar disorder, as well as psychotic disorders and personality disorders. He is highly skilled in addressing adult ADHD, anxiety disorders, and grief and adjustment issues. Additionally, Dr Chung provides specialised care in older adult mental health, including dementia assessments, and is experienced in managing treatment-resistant psychiatric conditions through both inpatient and day programmes.
