Dr Nina Petroff

Dr Nina Petroff is a highly qualified Adult Psychiatrist who provides compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. With a focus on supporting adults through complex psychological challenges, Dr Petroff is dedicated to helping her patients achieve mental well-being and resilience. Her clinical approach is collaborative and reassuring, ensuring that individuals feel heard and supported throughout their therapeutic journey.

Dr Petroff completed her medical education at the University of Queensland, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1997. She went on to undertake specialist training in psychiatry, completing the requirements for her Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in Sydney in 2006. This extensive training equips her with a deep understanding of complex psychiatric conditions and evidence-based treatment modalities.

Throughout her career, Dr Petroff has gained valuable experience in both public and private settings, including serving as a Consultant Psychiatrist with an Early Psychosis Team at a major hospital. She specialises in treating a diverse range of psychiatric conditions, with a particular focus on mood and anxiety disorders, perinatal mental health, and trauma-related illnesses. Additionally, she is highly skilled in addressing psychological illness in the context of cancer, providing supportive psychotherapy to help patients navigate the emotional complexities of physical illness.
