Dr Nimeshan Geevasinga

Dr Nimeshan Geevasinga is a highly qualified Neurologist and Neurophysiologist who provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing a wide range of neurological conditions. As an Associate Professor and Senior Clinical Lecturer, he combines his clinical practice with a strong commitment to medical education and research. Dr Geevasinga is dedicated to delivering patient-centred care, ensuring that individuals receive thorough assessments and evidence-based treatment plans tailored to their unique needs.

Dr Geevasinga completed his medical education at the University of Sydney, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Science and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours. He subsequently undertook advanced specialist training in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology at prominent tertiary referral hospitals. Furthering his academic pursuits, he obtained a Master of Medicine in Clinical Epidemiology and completed a Doctor of Philosophy in 2016, for which he was awarded the prestigious Peter Bancroft Prize for the best doctoral thesis. Dr Geevasinga is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, reflecting his high standards of clinical excellence and professional standing.

With a deep interest in all aspects of Clinical Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology, Dr Geevasinga has developed a particular focus on neuromuscular disorders. He has undertaken extensive research as a National Health and Medical Research Council Scholar, focusing on the diagnostic and pathophysiological mechanisms of Motor Neurone Disease. His academic contributions include publishing numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and regularly presenting his findings at both local and international medical conferences.
