Dr Naveen Nataraj

Dr Naveen Nataraj is a highly qualified Senior Consultant Psychiatrist practising in Strathfield, Sydney, who provides comprehensive mental health care within both public and private settings. He primarily identifies as a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist who thrives on working closely with patients and their families to achieve optimal outcomes. Dr Nataraj's clinical approach is deeply collaborative and patient-centred, focusing on understanding each individual's unique life circumstances, personal goals, and challenges before formulating a tailored treatment plan. Dr Nataraj completed his specialist psychiatric training at the prestigious National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences in India before relocating to Australia. He undertook further advanced training in General Adult Psychiatry to qualify as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Nataraj is actively involved in medical education and holds an academic position as a Conjoint Lecturer with the University of New South Wales. He is also a member of the Australian Medical Association, NSW, and has served in key leadership roles, including as a Clinical Director for Mental Health within the public health system.

With a broad range of clinical interests, Dr Nataraj specialises in diagnosing and managing complex mental health conditions in adults. His areas of expertise encompass mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. He is also highly experienced in addressing neurodevelopmental conditions, including adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, as well as old age psychiatry, perinatal mental health, and personality disorders.
