Dr Natalie Mackenzie

Dr Natalie Mackenzie is a Registered Dramatherapist with the Australia, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA) and the British Association of Dramatherapists. She has more than 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults experiencing emotional distress, psychological difficulties and the effects of trauma.

Dramatherapy is a recognised form of psychological therapy that uses creative and expressive techniques to support emotional exploration, communication and personal development. Dr Mackenzie integrates creative therapeutic approaches into her clinical work, providing individuals with alternative ways to process experiences and express emotions.

She currently works within an Early Intervention Psychosis service, supporting young adults experiencing early symptoms of psychotic disorders. In addition, she operates a private practice, Playful Minds, where she provides therapeutic support for children, young adults and families.

Her clinical work includes supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, difficulties with emotional regulation and challenges relating to social skills and interpersonal relationships. Through dramatherapy and other creative interventions, she helps clients engage with therapeutic processes in ways that extend beyond traditional verbal communication.

Dr Mackenzie works with a range of age groups and presents experience across both public mental health and private practice settings.
