Dr Natacha Sorour

Dr Natacha Sorour is a highly dedicated Medical Oncologist who provides comprehensive, evidence-based cancer care to patients in regional Queensland. Reassuring and professional, she is committed to delivering high-quality, up-to-date treatments tailored to each individual's needs. Dr Sorour works closely with a collaborative multi-disciplinary team, including Surgeons, Radiation Oncologists, Pathologists, Radiologists, and allied health professionals, to ensure a holistic and supportive approach to cancer management. Her practice encompasses a wide range of solid organ malignancies, utilising advanced therapeutic options such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and comprehensive supportive care planning.

Dr Sorour undertook her undergraduate medical training at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. She subsequently specialised in Internal Medicine, achieving her Fellowship of the College of Medicine of South Africa in 1996. After relocating to Australia, she successfully completed the Australasian College of Physician examinations, earning her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 1998. Driven by a strong clinical interest in cancer care, she undertook advanced specialised training in Oncology under the auspices of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, achieving her Medical Oncology Fellowship in 2009.

Throughout her distinguished career, Dr Sorour has held significant leadership and academic roles. She previously served as the Director of Medical Oncology at a major regional public hospital, where she played a pivotal role in expanding public cancer services and developing a regional cancer centre. In addition to her clinical practice, she is passionate about medical education and mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals. She holds the academic title of Senior Lecturer with a prominent university's rural medical school, contributing her extensive expertise to the training of medical students and clinical staff.
