Dr Namrata Shetty

Dr Namrata Shetty is a highly dedicated Psychiatrist who provides comprehensive mental health care for adult and geriatric patients. With a compassionate and evidence-based approach, she specialises in general adult psychiatry and old age psychiatry. Dr Shetty is committed to delivering personalised treatment plans that address the unique psychological and emotional needs of her patients, helping them achieve mental well-being and a better quality of life.

Her clinical expertise spans a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders. Dr Shetty also has a keen interest in psychopharmacology and the management of complex psychiatric issues in the elderly, such as neurocognitive disorders and the behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD). Trained in the Conversational Model, a validated form of psychodynamic therapy, she integrates psychotherapeutic techniques with medical management to offer holistic care. Additionally, she conducts capacity assessments and provides support for conditions such as adult ADHD and psychosis.

Dr Shetty holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and is a Fellow of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). She has also earned a Fellowship Certificate in Psychiatry of Old Age, reflecting her advanced training in geriatric mental health. Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Shetty is an active Researcher focusing on psychiatric disorders within the geriatric population. She is dedicated to medical education, serving as an Examiner for medical students at university level and conducting educational sessions for General Practitioners. Additionally, she contributes to the wider medical community as a Visiting Medical Officer and a Member of medical advisory boards.
