Dr Nabila Ansari

Dr Nabila Ansari is a colorectal surgeon with specialist expertise in the management of benign and malignant colorectal conditions, including complex peritoneal malignancy. She completed her MBBS at the University of Sydney in 2006 and obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2012. Following surgical training, she undertook further clinical fellowship training in colorectal surgery, including experience at Basingstoke Hospital in the UK, where she developed expertise in managing patients with peritoneal malignancy. 

Dr Ansari has a particular interest in colorectal cancer and peritoneal malignancy and leads the Cytoreductive Surgery and Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (CRS/HIPEC) service at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Her surgical practice includes open, laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures for a range of colorectal conditions.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Ansari has a strong interest in research and medical education. Her academic work has included a Masters degree exploring decision-making in the management of rectal cancer, reflecting her commitment to evidence-based practice and continued professional development. She is also involved in the training and education of the next generation of surgeons, sharing her experience and knowledge with colleagues and trainees.
