Dr Mukesh Kumar

Dr Mukesh Kumar is a highly qualified Consultant Psychiatrist who provides compassionate and comprehensive mental health care. He adopts a collaborative approach to treatment, ensuring that patients are actively involved in decisions regarding their care. Dr Kumar is dedicated to helping individuals identify, acknowledge, and manage their mental health challenges, tailoring treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.

Throughout his career, Dr Kumar has worked across both the public and private sectors across two continents, gaining extensive experience in treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions. His clinical expertise spans all age groups, with a particular focus on mood disorders, anxiety, and psychosis. In addition to providing psychological therapy, he is a State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) accredited independent assessor, offering independent opinions to third parties, insurers, and legal professionals.

Dr Kumar holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) alongside a Doctor of Medicine (MD). He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). Committed to advancing the field of mental health, Dr Kumar has been actively involved in medical education. He previously served as a Conjoint Lecturer at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and currently holds the position of Adjunct Lecturer with the UNSW School of Psychiatry.
