Dr Michael Batt

Dr Michael Batt is a highly qualified Consultant Psychiatrist who provides compassionate, patient-centred mental health care. He is dedicated to delivering comprehensive psychiatric assessments and collaborative treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each individual. With a reassuring and respectful approach, Dr Batt ensures that his patients are actively involved in their own care decisions, fostering a therapeutic environment free from judgement.

His clinical practice encompasses a broad range of mental health conditions, with particular expertise in perinatal psychiatry, supporting families and prospective parents through pregnancy planning, counselling, and postnatal psychiatric disorders. Dr Batt also specialises in managing functional neurological disorders, mood disorders, eating disorders, and personality disorders. He has a strong clinical interest in the emergence of psychotic and manic symptoms in young people, as well as the treatment of anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, and schizophrenia. Additionally, he offers psychodynamic psychotherapy and consultation-liaison psychiatry, providing holistic support for couples, families, and individuals.

Dr Batt completed his medical training at Monash University, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours (MBBS (Hons)) in 2013. He also holds a Master of Psychiatry and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology. Dr Batt is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and has achieved a Certificate of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, reflecting his advanced training and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.
