Dr Maree Chanter

Dr Maree Chanter is a highly qualified Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist, and Psychoanalyst who provides comprehensive mental health care for patients. She specialises in general adult and adolescent psychiatry, offering a compassionate and reassuring approach to individuals navigating complex emotional and psychological challenges. Dr Chanter is dedicated to helping patients achieve a deeper understanding of themselves, utilising a range of therapeutic modalities tailored to meet each individual's unique needs. With a broad range of clinical interests, Dr Chanter supports patients experiencing anxiety disorders, mood disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). She has a particular interest in perinatal psychiatry, women's mental health throughout the lifespan, and psychological issues in later life. Additionally, she provides expert care for individuals dealing with grief and loss, complex or developmental trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and early psychosis. Dr Chanter completed her medical training with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB BS) and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). Committed to advancing her expertise in psychotherapeutic practices, she completed a four-year psychoanalytic training programme at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis, earning a Doctor of Psychoanalysis (PsyD).
