Dr Luke Spencer

Dr Luke Spencer is a highly regarded Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in managing sports injuries and joint preservation. With a patient-centred approach, he is dedicated to restoring mobility and improving the quality of life for individuals experiencing complex joint conditions and acute injuries. Dr Spencer utilises evidence-based techniques to deliver tailored treatment plans, ensuring each patient receives the highest standard of care.

Dr Spencer completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne in 2000, where he was later awarded the Clinical Committee Prize for outstanding performance in his early surgical examinations. He completed his specialist training in Melbourne, qualifying as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2012. To further refine his expertise, he undertook advanced subspecialty fellowship training in Canada, focusing on orthopaedic sports surgery, followed by a local fellowship in primary joint replacement. He is a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and holds active memberships with the Australian Knee Society and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Spencer is committed to advancing the field of orthopaedic medicine through research and education. He has held academic positions as a Senior Lecturer at Deakin University and the University of Notre Dame, and has presented his research at numerous national and international conferences. His clinical interests encompass a broad range of procedures, including ligament reconstruction, cartilage and meniscal transplantation, patella stabilisation, shoulder tendon repair, and lower limb realignment.
