Dr Kiran Nair

Dr Kiran Nair is a highly qualified Consultant Psychiatrist who provides comprehensive psychiatric care across both inpatient and outpatient settings. He specialises in general adult mental health and has a dedicated sub-specialty focus on Addiction Psychiatry. Dr Nair is committed to delivering patient-centred care, supporting individuals through every stage of their recovery journey, from initial assessment and detoxification to long-term rehabilitation and wellness maintenance.

With extensive experience in public and private mental health sectors, Dr Nair manages a diverse range of conditions, including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and chronic pain. He has a particular interest in treating alcohol and substance use dependencies, as well as behavioural addictions. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Nair is an experienced Independent Medical Examiner and an accredited Permanent Impairment Assessor, frequently conducting detailed assessments for personal injury, public liability, and work-related matters.

Dr Nair completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the Amrita School of Medicine in Kochi, India. He subsequently undertook his specialist training in Psychiatry in New South Wales, where he also obtained a Certificate of Advanced Training in Addiction Psychiatry. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and a Member of the Faculty of Addiction Psychiatry. Dedicated to advancing the field, he also contributes to medical education as a casual lecturer for a university brain and mind psychiatry programme and serves as an accredited supervisor for training registrars.
