Dr Davis obtained his medical degree from the Liverpool University School of Medicine in the United Kingdom in 1963. Following his graduation, he pursued postgraduate training in obstetrics, gynaecology, and paediatrics at a hospital in Cheshire, England. After initially working as a General Practitioner in England, he broadened his clinical horizons by joining the P&O Shipping Line as a Ships' Senior Surgeon, a role that allowed him to travel the world while managing diverse medical emergencies and healthcare needs.

Upon emigrating to Australia, Dr Davis worked across several clinics in Melbourne before settling into private practice in 1975. Demonstrating a strong commitment to high-quality healthcare delivery, he took over the ownership and management of his practice in 2006. Under his leadership, the clinic underwent significant modernisation, becoming fully computerised and accredited to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
