Dr Katherine Buzzard consults with Neurology Network Melbourne at their Box Hill and Fitzroy locations. She practises all aspects of general neurology as well as neuroimmunological disorders such as multiple sclerosis, neurosarcoidosis, and myasthenia gravis.
Dr Buzzard first graduated with a bachelor's degree before going on to complete a PhD in cancer biology at the Peter Mac Callum Cancer Institute. She then trained for her MBBS with the University of Melbourne and graduated with honours in 2005. Following this, Dr Buzzard undertook specialist training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Alfred Hosptial before relocating to the UK to begin a fellowship at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London. She has since taken further fellowships in both multiple sclerosis and immunology and gained experience in the management of complex neuroimmunological conditions. Dr Buzzard has also spent time working at the multiple sclerosis clinic at the Brain Mind Research Institute in Sydney.
In addition to her work with Neurology Network Melbourne, Dr Buzzard consults at Eastern Health and the Royal Melbourne Hospital and is also an honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Melbourne. She is passionate about research and she is currently involved in the creation of an international database for patients with neuroimmunological disease.
