Dr Kade Collins is a Melbourne-based and internationally trained orthopaedic surgeon specialising in hip and knee conditions, as well as upper and lower limb injuries in both children and adults. He is recognised for providing comprehensive, patient-focused orthopaedic care that integrates both surgical and non-surgical treatment options.
Dr Collins grew up in Victoria and later moved to Melbourne for his medical studies and training. With a strong early interest in science, sport, and problem-solving, he pursued orthopaedic surgery as a natural career path focused on restoring mobility and function.
He completed his orthopaedic surgical training in Victoria and Tasmania, gaining broad experience across major trauma and elective orthopaedic services. During this period, he worked at Peninsula Health and Eastern Health, where he contributed to both elective orthopaedic surgery and on-call trauma care.
Following his specialist training in Australia, Dr Collins pursued further international fellowship training in hip and knee surgery in the United Kingdom and Europe during 2023–2024. He trained with leading orthopaedic units including Edinburgh Orthopaedics (working alongside surgeons such as Mr Paul Gaston, Mr Phil Simpson, and Mr Gavin Macpherson) and The London Hip Practice, under the guidance of Professor Field.
His subspecialty expertise includes complex primary and revision hip and knee replacement, robotic-assisted joint replacement surgery, joint preservation procedures such as osteotomies and arthroscopy, and minimally invasive anterior and posterior hip surgery. He is also experienced in managing sports injuries and complex limb trauma in both adults and paediatric patients.
Dr Collins holds a public hospital appointment at Peninsula Health, where he contributes to the training of future orthopaedic surgeons. He also practices privately across multiple hospitals in South-East Melbourne.
