Dr Justin Vass

Dr Justin Vass is a specialist Urological Surgeon with extensive experience in minimally invasive urological surgery. He completed his medicine degree at the University of New South Wales in 1992 and subsequently attained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Following his specialist training, he undertook further urological fellowship training in the United Kingdom, including a laparoscopic uro-oncology fellowship in Hampshire, developing particular expertise in minimally invasive approaches to urological disease.

His clinical interests include minimally invasive surgery of the prostate and kidneys, with experience in robotic-assisted and laparoscopic procedures for prostate and renal cancer. His practice also encompasses laparoscopic pyeloplasty for pelvi-ureteric obstruction, minimally invasive treatment of urinary stones, and laser treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia. He was the first surgeon to establish Laparoscopic RadicalProstatectomy in Australia and has completed over 150 Laparoscopic Radical nephrectomies, 100 Laparoscopic Pyeloplasties and 60 Partial nephretomies. Alongside this Dr Vass is one of a select group of surgeons accredited to carry out laparoscopic donor nephrectomy.

He has also contributed to the teaching as a lecturer at both the University of Sydney and the Macquarie University School of Advanced Medicine. Alongside this he is an active member of the Australasian, American, British and European Urological Societies.
