About Dr Josephine Collins

Dr. Josephine Collins is a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist with a focus on therapeutic endoscopy and inflammatory bowel disease. She graduated from the University of Newcastle and completed her internship and residency at Gosford and Wyong Hospitals. Following this, Dr. Collins was admitted to physicians training at Royal North Shore Hospital, where she also undertook advanced gastroenterology training, and subsequently completed an additional year of advanced endoscopy training at Bankstown Hospital.

Dr. Collins further enhanced her expertise with a two-year fellowship in advanced endoscopy at Addenbrooke’s Hospital (Cambridge University Hospital) in the UK. During this time, she gained extensive experience in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic luminal stent placement, and small bowel capsule endoscopy. She also completed a Diploma in UK Medical Practice (LSTM). Dr. Collins is an accredited diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopist with the Conjoint Committee, with expertise in gastroscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, and small bowel capsule endoscopy.

With a patient-centred approach, Dr. Collins is committed to delivering the highest standards of care and has a particular interest in therapeutic endoscopy and managing inflammatory bowel disease. She is passionate about teaching and has been actively involved in educating and training medical students, junior doctors, and gastroenterology trainees.

Dr. Collins is a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) and holds the position of Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Macquarie University.
