Dr Joerg Rhau

Dr Joerg Rhau is an internationally trained orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in surgery of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. His clinical approach is grounded in a strong surgical education, extensive experience, and a focus on improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practices.

He completed his orthopaedic training at the renowned Lubinus Clinic in Germany, where he gained experience in a wide range of surgical techniques and injury management. His participation in research projects during this time sparked a long-term interest in innovation and advancements in shoulder and upper limb surgery.

In 2006, Dr Rhau moved to Melbourne, Australia, embracing the local culture of progressive, research-informed care. He undertook fellowships with the Melbourne Orthopaedic Group and the Melbourne Shoulder and Elbow Centre, and was later awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2012.

Since 2007, Dr Rhau has worked as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Logan Public Hospital in Queensland, focusing on conditions affecting the shoulder and upper limbs. He also contributes to the professional development of junior doctors through the training of residents and registrars.
