Dr Luke Liu

Dr Jin Liu is a General Surgeon with areas of practice including colorectal, breast, endocrine, skin and melanoma, trauma, upper gastrointestinal-hepatopancreatobiliary surgery, obesity and surgical oncology. His surgical interests include complex abdominal hernia surgery, colorectal surgery, endocrine surgery and breast surgery.

Dr Liu completed his MBBS at the University of Sydney in 2000 and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. His advanced surgical training included Royal Melbourne Hospital, Concord Repatriation General Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, Liverpool Hospital, Ballarat Base Hospital, Albury Base Hospital, Mona Vale and Manly Hospital and Fairfield Hospital. From 2014 to 2016, he undertook a Trauma Surgical Fellowship at St George Hospital in New South Wales.

His gastrointestinal and colorectal practice includes laparoscopic colorectal cancer resection, surgical management of diverticular disease, surgery for rectal prolapse, gastroscopy, colonoscopy and the management of perianal conditions including anal fissures, haemorrhoids and anal fistulas. He also performs laparoscopic hernia repair and complex abdominal wall hernia reconstruction.

Dr Liu's breast surgical practice includes breast cancer surgery, including partial and total mastectomy, lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy, as well as local flap reconstruction and oncoplastic volume replacement surgery. His endocrine practice includes thyroid surgery and minimally invasive parathyroid surgery. He also provides surgical management for melanoma and other skin cancers, including excision and reconstructive procedures.

His wider surgical practice includes gallbladder, small and large bowel, trauma, hand and varicose vein surgery, alongside other general surgical procedures. Dr Liu participates in multidisciplinary cancer team meetings as part of the management of oncology patients.
