Dr. Jehan Suleiman

Dr. Jehan Suleiman is a highly accomplished Consultant Paediatrician and Paediatric Neurologist with extensive international and Australian clinical experience. She earned her primary medical degree from the University of Jordan in 1996 before moving to Australia, where she completed her advanced specialist training in Paediatrics and Paediatric Neurology (including an Epilepsy Fellowship) at the Children's Hospital at Westmead in Sydney. Over her long-standing career, she transitioned from her clinical fellowship at Westmead to key leadership and clinical consultant roles across Australia and overseas, establishing a premier reputation in Western Australia's paediatric healthcare network.

A dedicated researcher and academic, Dr. Suleiman holds a PhD in Medicine from the University of Sydney and serves as an Associate Professor of Paediatrics. She is internationally recognised for her major contributions to paediatric neurogenetics and neuroimmunology, having had a rare genetic condition, Suleiman-El-Hattab Syndrome (SULEHS), named in her honour. In addition to her research, she actively participates in academic instruction at the University of Western Australia, teaching clinicians the diagnosis and assessment of complex conditions like Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). In practice, Dr. Suleiman encompasses a warm, empathetic, and family-centred approach to establish trust while delivering comprehensive assessments for neurodevelopmental disorders, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and complex neuroimmunological conditions.
