Dr Jeffrey Ball

Dr Jeffrey Ball is a highly qualified Consultant Psychiatrist who specialises in child, adolescent, family, and adult psychiatry. With a compassionate and patient-centred approach, he focuses on working therapeutically with adolescents and young adults. Dr Ball supports individuals navigating a range of challenges, including difficulties with mood, anxiety, sense of self, life transitions, interpersonal conflict, and past trauma. He is dedicated to providing holistic and collaborative care, working closely with both individual patients and their families to foster long-term mental well-being.

In his clinical practice, Dr Ball utilises a diverse range of therapeutic modalities tailored to the unique needs of each patient. His approach is informed by psychodynamic, attachment-based, family, cognitive, behavioural, and dialectical models of therapy. In addition to offering both brief and longer-term psychotherapy, Dr Ball is qualified to recommend, prescribe, and monitor medication when clinically indicated. He strongly believes in collaborative care and regularly liaises with external Healthcare Providers and School Counsellors to ensure a comprehensive and supportive network for his patients.

Dr Ball possesses an extensive academic background, having studied internationally in Canada and Australia. Prior to pursuing his career in medicine and psychiatry, he established a strong foundation in psychology and clinical research. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology, Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology, and Master of Science in Medical Science, before earning his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours from the University of Sydney, qualifying in 2009. Dr Ball completed his postgraduate psychiatry training primarily in South Eastern and Central Sydney, undertaking Generalist Psychiatry training followed by advanced training in child, adolescent, and family psychiatry. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and a Member of the Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
