Dr Jane Dorothy Cooper

Dr Jane Dorothy Cooper is a highly respected and dedicated General Practitioner who provides comprehensive primary healthcare in Devonport, Australia. Recognised for her outstanding commitment to medicine, she was awarded both the National and Tasmanian Royal Australian College of General Practitioners General Practitioner of the Year in 2016. Dr Cooper is deeply passionate about delivering holistic, patient-centred care, with a particular focus on supporting and advocating for young people within the community. Dr Cooper completed her Bachelor of Medical Science and Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Tasmania. Committed to continuous professional development, she has obtained a Diploma of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, a Diploma in Teaching and Learning for Health Professionals, and a Diploma in Clinical Redesign. She holds a Fellowship in Advanced Rural General Practice and is recognised as a Rural Generalist by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Additionally, she became a Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine in 2021. Dr Cooper has also contributed significantly to the medical community as a Medical Educator and supervisor for General Practitioner Registrars.
