Dr Jane Collins

Dr Jane Collins is a highly dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a broad clinical focus, she is particularly passionate about supporting families and individuals through various stages of life. Her areas of clinical interest encompass women's health, perinatal care, paediatrics, mental health, and nutritional and environmental medicine. Dr Collins is committed to delivering evidence-based, holistic healthcare, ensuring that each patient receives personalised attention tailored to their unique physical and emotional well-being.

Before transitioning fully into community medicine, Dr Collins built a distinguished career in the Australian Regular Army. She served as a Captain Medical Officer and was the first female medical officer appointed to a combat-related role. Her service included a deployment to Iraq to provide vital humanitarian support to refugees, for which she was awarded the Australian Service Medal. She was later promoted to Major and contributed to military medicine and training before establishing her career in General Practice, where she has founded and worked in several community clinics.

Dr Collins graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Queensland in 1989. She completed her initial residency training at major hospitals in Brisbane. Demonstrating a lifelong commitment to learning, she achieved her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1996. She further expanded her expertise by obtaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Science in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine in 2003, followed by a Diploma in Child Health in 2005. To complement her holistic approach to patient care, she has also pursued advanced postgraduate studies in counselling. She maintains active professional alignment to provide accredited antenatal shared care.
