Dr Jane Barry

Dr Jane Barry is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who is deeply committed to providing comprehensive, high-quality healthcare to patients of all ages. With a patient-centred approach, she focuses on treating each patient as a whole person, aiming to optimise their overall health and well-being rather than simply addressing isolated illnesses or injuries. Dr Barry is passionate about the diverse nature of General Practice and values the opportunity to build lasting, supportive relationships with individuals and families within the community.

Throughout her career, Dr Barry has developed a broad range of clinical interests, with a particular focus on women's health, including antenatal care, birthing, and the insertion of contraception devices such as Mirena. Her clinical focus also encompasses child health, immunisations, mental health, and seniors' health services. Additionally, she is highly skilled in emergency medicine, chronic disease management, and performing minor procedures, including skin checks, excisions, and the care of minor injuries. Dr Barry also possesses a strong background in Indigenous and remote community health, reflecting her commitment to diverse and equitable healthcare delivery.

Dr Barry completed her undergraduate medical training at the University of New South Wales, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and a Bachelor of Science (Medicine) in 1997. Committed to maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence, she holds a Diploma of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRANZCOG). She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and a Fellow of Advanced Rural General Practice (FARGP). Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Barry is actively involved in medical education, contributing to the training of future Medical Practitioners and regularly serving as an Examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
