Dr James Wei

Dr James Wei is a dedicated and highly skilled General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. He is passionate about all aspects of rural general practice, delivering compassionate medical support to individuals and families. With a reassuring and professional approach, Dr Wei focuses on understanding each patient's unique health journey to achieve the best possible clinical outcomes.

In addition to providing general family medicine, Dr Wei has developed advanced clinical interests in chronic pain management and musculoskeletal medicine. He has undertaken further specialised training in regenerative injection therapies, including Prolotherapy and Peri-neural Injection Treatment (P.I.T.), to assist patients suffering from nerve pain and complex musculoskeletal conditions. His holistic approach to pain management also encompasses the clinical application of medicinal cannabis, offering tailored treatment pathways for those dealing with persistent discomfort. He also serves as a General Practitioner Supervisor, helping to guide and mentor the next generation of medical professionals.

Dr Wei completed his medical education at the University of Melbourne, where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSc). Committed to continuous professional development, he also holds a Diploma of Child Health (DCH). Dr Wei achieved his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2017. He is an active member of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian Association of Musculoskeletal Medicine.
