Before embarking on his medical degree, Dr Berryman gained valuable clinical experience working as a Registered Nurse across New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Australia. He then pursued his medical training at the medical school in Dunedin, New Zealand, qualifying as a Medical Practitioner. Dr Berryman has been a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners since 2002. His outstanding contributions to the medical field have been widely recognised, including receiving the national GP Supervisor of the Year award in 2020 and being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 2026 for his service to medicine as a General Practitioner.
