About Dr James Bacon

Dr James Bacon is a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist practicing in Sydney. He completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney in 2005, following a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney Cumberland College in 2001. His specialty training in obstetrics and gynaecology was undertaken at Royal North Shore Hospital, where he developed expertise in laparoscopic surgery and high-risk obstetric care. During this period, he also completed the Allan Ferrier Memorial Fellowship at North Shore Private Hospital, with a focus on complex gynaecological surgery.

Dr. Bacon provides comprehensive obstetric care, ranging from normal pregnancy to cases requiring complex multidisciplinary management. He supports vaginal delivery and vaginal birth after caesarean, while also being skilled in assisted deliveries and caesarean sections. His gynaecological practice covers preventive care, contraception, menstrual disorders, management of abnormal pap smears, colposcopy, and minimally invasive surgical treatment of gynaecological conditions, including prolapse and incontinence.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Bacon has a strong interest in global health, having worked and taught in developing countries such as Rwanda and Nepal. He currently consults at North Shore Private Hospital, the Mater Hospital, and Royal North Shore Hospital.
