Dr Ivor Hodgson

Dr Ivor Hodgson is a highly qualified Consultant Psychiatrist who provides compassionate, patient-centred care. He operates within a holistic recovery framework, ensuring that each individual receives a comprehensive assessment and a tailored treatment plan. Understanding that seeking psychiatric support can occur during highly vulnerable times, Dr Hodgson is dedicated to maintaining a respectful, non-judgemental, and supportive environment for all his patients.

With a broad range of clinical expertise, Dr Hodgson specialises in the assessment and management of diverse mental health conditions. His primary areas of clinical interest include adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), substance misuse and addiction psychiatry, and personality disorders. Additionally, he provides expert care for individuals experiencing anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), mood disorders, and psychosis. Dr Hodgson is also highly experienced in conducting one-off assessments and preparing detailed medicolegal reports for various courts, tribunals, and insurance bodies.

Dr Hodgson completed his medical degree in the United Kingdom, where he also undertook post-graduate training in the North of England, obtaining dual qualifications in both General Adult and Addiction Psychiatry. His academic achievements include a Master of Clinical Psychiatry and a Master of Laws in Mental Health Law, alongside a Diploma in Medical Informatics. He qualified as a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK) in 2003 and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). Throughout his career, he has held key clinical and leadership roles across both public and private mental health services in the United Kingdom and Australia.
