Dr Irwin Pakula

Dr Irwin Pakula is a highly respected Psychiatrist who has dedicated his career to understanding and treating complex mental health conditions. Serving as a Medical Superintendent and a Clinical Associate Professor, he brings a wealth of clinical expertise and academic leadership to his practice. Dr Pakula is deeply passionate about the human mind and is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to help adults navigate their mental health journeys.

Dr Pakula completed his medical degree, obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). He undertook his specialist training in Psychiatry at a regional hospital in New South Wales and subsequently achieved Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). Throughout his distinguished career, he has served as a Director of Mental Health Services and has been actively involved in medical education, supervising medical students at a local university. His outstanding contributions to mental health services were recognised when he was awarded the Local Hero of the Year award for his region.

In his clinical practice, Dr Pakula focuses on the assessment and management of a wide range of psychiatric conditions in adults. He has particular clinical interest in anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Dr Pakula utilises a variety of therapeutic modalities, including supportive psychotherapy and advanced treatments such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).
