Dr Velcea completed her medical education in Romania, where she graduated with her Doctor of Medicine in 1993. Following her initial training, she practised medicine internationally, including several years in South Africa, before relocating to Australia. To further her professional standing and align with Australian medical standards, she obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2004.
