Prof. Garry Walter

Prof. Garry Walter is a highly respected and internationally renowned Psychiatrist who provides comprehensive mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults. Throughout his distinguished career, Prof. Walter has held prominent academic and clinical leadership positions, including serving as a Professor and Chair of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, as well as a Clinical Director of youth mental health services. He has also contributed significantly to psychiatric research and literature, having published hundreds of papers and book chapters on various mental health topics. Prof. Walter completed his medical education at the University of New South Wales, earning a Bachelor of Medical Science in 1980 and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 1982. He subsequently obtained a Doctor of Philosophy and completed specialised training in psychiatry. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and holds a Certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He is also an Accredited Member of both the Faculty of Adult Psychiatry and the Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, ensuring his practice aligns with the highest professional standards.
