About Dr Gareth Weston

Dr Gareth Weston is a Consultant Obstetrician, Gynaecologist, and Fertility Specialist, and the Clinical Director at Monash IVF Cremorne, Sunshine, and Sale. He has extensive experience in reproductive medicine, infertility management, and gynaecological surgery.

Dr Weston completed his medical degree with honours at The University of Melbourne in 1996 before training in obstetrics and gynaecology at Monash University. He went on to complete a PhD in Reproductive Medicine and Molecular Biology in 2003, conducting research at Cambridge University (UK) and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute in Melbourne. He also holds a Master of Public Health with a focus on epidemiology and biostatistics, completed in 2002.

Dr Weston has published over 40 book chapters and journal articles in the field of infertility and reproductive medicine and is the author of a textbook for gynaecology trainees. He currently holds the Carl Wood Senior Lectureship in Gynaecology at Monash University and a public appointment at the Monash Medical Centre Reproductive Medicine Unit.

His clinical and research interests include conservative infertility treatment, IVF, egg freezing for medical and social reasons, donor sperm treatment for lesbian and single women, endometriosis, PCOS, and fibroids. He also holds an NHMRC research grant investigating the role of stem cells in the development of endometriosis.

Dr Weston sees patients privately at Jessie MacPherson Private Hospital and Cabrini Private Hospital, and gynaecological surgery at Epworth Hospital Richmond, Monash Surgical Private Hospital Clayton, and Western Day Surgery Sunshine.

Dr Weston is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and a certified Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) specialist.
