Dr Franz-Markus Leweke

Professor Dr Franz-Markus Leweke is an internationally renowned Consultant Psychiatrist who brings world-class academic rigour and clinical expertise to his practice. He specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a broad range of mental health conditions, with a particular focus on early intervention. Dr Leweke is dedicated to helping patients navigate the early stages of mental health disorders to improve their long-term outcomes and overall quality of life. With extensive training as both a Psychiatrist and a Neurologist, Dr Leweke possesses a deep understanding of brain health and the complex relationship between neurological and psychiatric conditions. His clinical interests span affective disorders, including depression and bipolar disorder, as well as anxiety, psychosis, schizophrenia, and trauma-related conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He also provides specialised care for individuals experiencing difficulties with attention, focus, and emotional regulation, including adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Dr Leweke completed his medical studies at the University of Cologne in Germany and the University of New South Wales in Australia, obtaining his medical degree in 1991 and his doctorate in medicine in 1993. He later earned a Master of Arts in Healthcare Business Management and Health Economics in 2016. He undertook rigorous specialist training to qualify as a Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist, and Neurologist, achieving board certifications from German State Medical Boards. Dr Leweke is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and serves as an accredited supervisor for specialist training. Additionally, he is a Fellow of both the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ACNP) and the International College of Neuropsychopharmacology (CINP), and a Member of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP).
