Mr Eric Daniel

Mr Eric Daniel is a specialist Colorectal Surgeon with expertise in bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic floor dysfunction, and proctology. Graduating from the University of Tasmania with First Class Honours in 2006, he completed his postgraduate training in General Surgery in Melbourne by 2013. Pursuing further specialisation, he undertook four years of sub-specialist training to become a Colorectal Surgeon, earning membership in the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand and a Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Mr Daniel holds public appointments at Northern Health and Monash Health, and private appointments at Warringal Private Hospital, John Fawkner Hospital, and Northpark Private Hospital. His clinical interests encompass diseases of the small and large bowel, colonoscopy, proctology, and minimally invasive surgery.

Since 2018, Mr Daniel has been a consultant at Northern Health, where the Colorectal Unit operates within the Division of General Surgery. This unit collaborates closely with the Gastroenterology Unit, stomal therapy, nursing staff, and Allied Health, ensuring comprehensive patient care. He plays an active role in training future surgeons, supervising Junior Medical Officers in Surgery at Northern Health. Mr Daniel's dedication to fostering a positive and educational environment aims to create a supportive and favourable rotation for junior medical staff.
