Dr Eileen Vuong

Dr Eileen Vuong is a highly qualified Consultant Psychiatrist who provides compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. With a clinical approach that is both reassuring and patient-centred, she is dedicated to supporting individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds. Dr Vuong has extensive experience working across the public, private, and academic sectors internationally, including in South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia. Her practice focuses on delivering comprehensive psychiatric assessments and tailored treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr Vuong has a particular interest in women's mental health, offering expert care for conditions such as pregnancy and postpartum mental illness, premenstrual disorders, fertility difficulties, miscarriage grief, and perimenopausal mood disorders. Her clinical expertise also extends to trauma-related disorders, including acute stress and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as well as depression, bipolar disorders, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Additionally, she provides transitional care for immigrants, expatriates, and individuals on temporary visas who require the continuation of established psychiatric treatments, and she conducts specialised Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) assessments under specific clinical pathways.

Dr Vuong's academic and professional qualifications reflect her commitment to clinical excellence and lifelong learning. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), a Master of Medicine in Psychiatry (MMed), and is a Fellow of the College of Psychiatrists (FCPsych). In 2022, she completed her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), which investigated biomarkers predicting the onset of post-traumatic stress disorder and cardiometabolic disease. Dr Vuong is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). Alongside her clinical work, she contributes to the advancement of psychiatric medicine as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer and researcher, having published her findings in numerous international journals and book chapters.
