Dr Dinah Bennett

Dr Dinah Bennett is a highly qualified Consultant Psychiatrist who provides compassionate and comprehensive mental health care. With a career dedicated to supporting individuals through complex psychological challenges, she serves as a Director of Medical Services and holds an academic appointment as a Conjoint Senior Lecturer in psychiatry. Dr Bennett is committed to delivering patient-centred care, working collaboratively with individuals to support their recovery and improve their overall well-being. She welcomes patients from sixteen years of age, offering a supportive and reassuring environment for those navigating mental health concerns.

In her clinical practice, Dr Bennett addresses a broad spectrum of mental health conditions. Her areas of expertise include the assessment and management of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and borderline personality disorder. She has a particular clinical interest in eating disorders, including atypical presentations and adolescent eating disorders, as well as the pharmacological treatment of binge eating disorders. Utilising evidence-based approaches, she integrates psychological therapies, such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), with medical management to tailor treatment plans to each patient's unique needs.

Dr Bennett completed her undergraduate medical training at the University of Sydney, obtaining her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). She then pursued her post-graduate psychiatric training in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. Demonstrating a strong commitment to academic research and clinical excellence, she earned a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in psychiatry, focusing on the cross-cultural presentations of eating disorders, and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Dr Bennett is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in the United Kingdom.
