Derek McLellan

Derek McLellan is a compassionate and dedicated Psychologist who provides comprehensive mental health support to individuals across the lifespan. Working with clients from children aged five and above through to adulthood, he focuses on creating a safe, validating, and collaborative therapeutic environment. His practice is built on an empathic and non-judgemental approach, ensuring that every client feels comfortable and supported while exploring their concerns.

With a strong commitment to helping clients reduce distress and achieve lasting positive change, McLellan addresses a diverse range of psychological concerns. He has a particular clinical interest in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression, and stress. By tailoring his therapeutic strategies to the unique needs of each individual, he assists clients in developing effective coping mechanisms and emotional regulation skills.

As part of his specialised clinical toolkit, McLellan is an accredited Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Practitioner, having completed formal training with the EMDR Institute. He also holds full professional membership with the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA). In addition to EMDR, he utilises evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to deliver high-quality, structured care to his clients.
