Dr Denise Ruth

Dr Denise Ruth is a highly dedicated General Practitioner and Public Health Physician who specialises in Public Health Medicine. With a career focused on community well-being, she combines clinical general practice with a strong commitment to public health advocacy and systemic health improvements. Dr Ruth is passionate about addressing health inequities, promoting environmental health, and integrating climate concerns into daily clinical practice to foster healthier communities.

Throughout her career, Dr Ruth has made significant contributions to primary care and chronic disease management. Her clinical interests encompass aged care, women's health, and the non-surgical management of chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis. She has also played a pivotal role in shaping clinical guidelines, having served as the Past Chair of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners' Silver Book Expert Advisory Group for aged care. Additionally, she is actively involved in medical education, working as a Medical Educator to train and support the next generation of General Practitioners and Clinical Supervisors.

Dr Ruth completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Monash University, qualifying in 1976. Committed to advancing her expertise, she subsequently obtained a Diploma of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DipRACOG) and a Master of Public Health (MPH). She is a distinguished Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (FAFPHM). Her extensive academic and professional background underscores her expertise in both individual patient care and population-level health strategies.
