Dr Daniel Sathianathan

Dr Daniel Sathianathan is a General Cardiologist and Echocardiologist with over 15 years of specialist experience in adult cardiology. He has a particular interest in stress echocardiography for the assessment of patients presenting with chest pain or shortness of breath, as well as the clinical and echocardiographic assessment of heart murmurs and valvular heart disease. He also has an interest in the primary and secondary prevention of ischaemic heart disease.

Dr Sathianathan completed his general cardiology specialist training at The Canberra Hospital before undertaking a fellowship in echocardiography at The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane in 2009. He also became a a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in the same year.

He takes a comprehensive approach to adult cardiology, with a particular focus on using clinical assessment and echocardiography to investigate symptoms and identify cardiovascular conditions.

Dr Sathianathan also maintains a strong interest in echocardiography research and education, reflecting his specialist focus in cardiac imaging and his ongoing involvement in the field.
