Dr. Constant van Schalkwyk

Dr Constant Van Schalkwyk is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon based in Sydney, specialising in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. He offers cosmetic surgery of the face, body and breast as well as reconstructive plastic surgery. He is able to utilise his wide array of clinical experience and anatomical knowledge to provide a service which is based on his thorough understanding of proportion and attention to detail. He focuses on working with patients to achieve their goals through offering treatments tailored specifically to them, alongside providing clear information regarding possible limitations and risks associated with procedures. 

Dr Van Schalkwyk gained his degree in Medicine from Western Sydney University in 2011. He completed his plastic surgery training program in Sydney and Melbourne through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, during which he completed a Master’s degree in Surgical Anatomy in 2018 from the University of Sydney. Additionally, he gained his Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He completed further specialist training at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London where he specialised in microvascular and reconstructive plastic surgery for cancer patients. Here, he gained experience in managing reconstruction for head and neck, breast, pelvic, chest wall and perineal reconstruction. He also was able to gain experience in microsurgery where advanced robots are used to dissect tissues. 

He completed a further Fellowship in London specialising in plastic surgery under surgeons with significant expertise in this field, where he gained advanced training in facial, breast and body aesthetic surgery. This includes procedures like rhinoplasty, body contouring and face lifts. His breadth of experience across reconstructive and cosmetic surgery informs Dr Van Schalkwyk’s considered and detail-oriented clinical approach.
