A/Prof Chrishan Nalliah

Dr Chrishan Nalliah is a General Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist with a strong clinical and academic focus on heart rhythm disorders. His work centres on the diagnosis and management of complex arrhythmias, device therapy, and inherited cardiac conditions.

He graduated with Honours in Medicine from the University of Sydney and completed his clinical cardiology training at Westmead Hospital, where he was later admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2015. He went on to complete a PhD and clinical fellowship at the University of Melbourne, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship at Westmead Hospital.

His clinical expertise includes complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmia management, cardiac device implantation (such as pacemakers and defibrillators), and the assessment and treatment of inherited arrhythmia syndromes. He works as a clinician-academic and is currently appointed as an Associate Professor at Macquarie University Hospital.

Alongside his clinical practice, he has an extensive research portfolio with over 60 peer-reviewed publications. His contributions to cardiology and electrophysiology have been recognised through multiple national and international awards, including the Ralph Reader Prize, CSANZ Arrhythmia Prize, APHRS Young Investigator Award, and others. He is also an NHMRC Early Career Fellow.
