About Cathy Yang

Cathy has a rich interdisciplinary background, combining her passion for psychology with her extensive experience in marketing and community projects. She holds a Master of Producing for Film and Television from the University of Melbourne, a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychology from the University of Liverpool, and a Bachelor of Arts from Peking University. In China, Cathy co-founded the LGBTQ+ social platform LESDO App and led initiatives focusing on mental health and LGBTQ+ well-being. She has collaborated with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Chinese Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on related projects.

Since relocating to Melbourne, Cathy has continued her commitment to multicultural mental health, leading projects such as the Chinese Mental Health Symposium and the RISE Wellbeing and Success Program for International Students. She specialises in managing anxiety and depression, stress management, career planning and transitions, international student adaptation, women’s mental health, LGBTQ+ identity and coming out, and navigating complex relationships. Cathy’s empathetic and insightful approach aims to guide clients in discovering their unique strengths and unlocking opportunities for growth through the healing process.
