About Dr Avelyn Kwok
Dr. Avelyn Kwok is a specialist in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, with expertise in Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, and Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS). Graduating with honours from the University of New South Wales, Dr. Kwok completed her advanced Gastroenterology training at The Canberra Hospital and Concord Repatriation General Hospital. Since 2011, she has been serving as a visiting gastroenterologist at Concord and Sydney Adventist Hospitals.
Dr. Kwok’s subspecialty focus lies in diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopic Ultrasound. To further her expertise, she underwent additional fellowship training with world-leading experts at the Medical University of South Carolina and Oregon Health and Sciences University. In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Dr. Kwok was awarded the prestigious American College of Gastroenterology International Training Grant in 2010.
Her clinical interests are extensive and include quality colonoscopy, colon cancer screening, pancreatic disease, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) including Barrett’s screening, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Dr. Kwok is an active member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia and holds accreditation for gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and endoscopic ultrasound by the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
