Dr Asma Nisa Sheriff

Dr Asma Nisa Sheriff is a highly qualified Consultant Endocrinologist dedicated to providing holistic, evidence-based care to her patients. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, she focuses on diagnosing and managing a wide range of hormonal and metabolic disorders. Dr Sheriff believes in working collaboratively with her patients to develop personalised treatment plans that support their long-term health and well-being.

Dr Sheriff completed her medical education at the University of Melbourne, qualifying in 2008 with a combined Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and a Bachelor of Biomedical Science with Honours. She undertook her basic physician training at major teaching hospitals in Melbourne and Sydney, followed by advanced specialist training in Endocrinology. To further her expertise, she completed a dedicated pituitary fellowship and was the recipient of a prestigious research training scholarship. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Her clinical expertise spans all aspects of endocrinology, with particular interests in diabetes management, including type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes, as well as insulin resistance. Dr Sheriff is also highly skilled in treating thyroid, pituitary, and adrenal conditions, bone and calcium disorders, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and weight management. Committed to staying at the forefront of her field, she maintains active memberships with several professional bodies, including the Endocrine Society of Australia, the Australian Diabetes Society, the US Endocrine Society, and the European Society of Endocrinology.
